I wonder if?

it seems to me theres a lot of threads of late about clutch boosters. the reason for my thread is ive tried bleeding my clutch on my car and cant get any better than the bitten point right near the floor but im no mechanic but my question is maybe when i put the engine back in i might have put a pipe on wrong ? what is a clutch booster and could it affect it like mine?

Bleeding the clutch has nothing to do with the booster, the booster aids pedal travel via vacuum from the booster. I would suggest checking the slave cylinder ( on the gearbox) that the piston is moving freely, if its been stood for a long period or second hand etc, may be slightly ceased. You can also bleed the slave off the box, place on the inner wing for ease, assuming you have a slave to master hose.

Sounds like you need to adjust the pedal travel mate. I had this problem when I did my conversion. It's a bit of a pain to do but it fixed my problem.

Have a search on Clutch pedal adjustment to find out how to do it.

i dont think it is travel cas theres a noise like when your moving the car slightly almost like its not quiete engaged or something if you know whwt i mean.

there is another possibility...

there are two issues that can happen with the clutch.

1 - if not put in right the thrust bearing can be incorrectly engaged in the release arm...

2 - the ball head fulcrum can break off and cause the release arm to bit a bit floppy...

do a search for posts by JeffTT on the subject, I think you can check both without getting the box back off but it's not easy... perfect time for one of those inspection cameras.

good luck ( it would be better for you if it is the slave..)

brand new clutch master cylinder bitch to fit and brand new slave cylinder, so not that.

Buddy the hardest thing in the world to bleed sometimes is a new master....open the nipple on the slave slightly fill the master to the top and go and put the kettle on.Drink your tea with half a packet of custard creams then go take a shower, after getting dry and clothed check your master and top up then put the kettle on again for another cuppa:whistling:..The best method for bleeding is good old gravity and after a while then bleed the last bit of air thats trapped in the corners out by normal pump the pedal chestnut.

You reckon then fill here up the master cylinder and bassically do something else whilst waiting ages and just leave it to what drain for an hour or just keeping bleeding it and leave the slave cylinder open? then do

everytime ive bled something i just let gravity do the work mate...you dont want the nipple wide open just enough for it to weep.Works for me .
