Is there any way an auto box can be rebuild to be just as fast and responsive as a manual? Just wondering as i do like the auto box for relaxed driving during traffic etc, so just a question that came up was could you have best of both worlds?

Yeah it does sound good but what is the cost of the kit and then most likely you would have to have the auto tranny rebuild too!

think it was about 2.5k for the install/kit ... yeah it would be recommended to rebuild the auto box

says 9500SEK which is about.. £896. according to the website.

That's a good price, and installing wouldn't cost too much. So 900 for the kit plus delivery, installation and 110 for extra auto cooler. Plus a rebuild.

Would it be better than an manual after all that??

well surely it'll shift quicker than we can.. bet installation isnt that bad.. theres a separate ecu for the auto box already.. isnt it an in and out job? with a little loom adjustment. but yea, i would recon the box for sure.

the thing i wonder about is if theres any engine breaking once you fit this kit. thats the thing that ticks me off most about my auto zed.

they sound rare. found bits and pieces online but not loads of info. lots of people having trouble with overheating transmissions using them.

somebody is selling one on the forum. Price range varies from 60 to 200£ :) i have no ploblems with overheating but i have a large auto transmision oil cooler

I'm same as above, have one fitted along with a seperate oil cooler - no overheating problems.

I think that I paid around £60 to £80 for mine.

just get HKS ALC 5 min to fit makes a masive difference in shifting

What does it really do? i see there is a version 2 too now.

it helps to maintain constant oil pressure in autobox and it shifts faster

I believe that it increases the hydraulic oil pressure in the auto box, thereby giving smoother, faster gear changes.

Certainly, if I'm giving the car welly - the gear changes are barely noticeable but sometimes at low speed they're not so good.

dont tempt me :P i'd probably rather go this way in the long run than go manual maybe. Dont get me wrong, manual IS more fun, but in terms of being plain quick, a rapid auto has gotta be helpful.. plus, i wouldnt have to change my ecu again :P
