What the hell is this buzzing noise that's just started up this afternoon!??!

Earlier this week she started to run like she drops a cylinder every now and then (misfiring, occasional puff of dark grey smoke, light judder under accelleration), and now on the way home, when my foot is off the throttle, this constant vibrator/electric shaver noise comes from the dash cluster!! No change to the way she drives (other than the misfiring that started a few days ago) albeit the 'LIGHTS' warning light was constantly on, which was new as well.

Headlights, sidelights, high beam, brake lights, rear lights and dash lights all worked normally. I have reverse indiglo dials so at first I thought the inverter had packed in, but it's directly linked to the throttle. Listen to the video!

I'm off tomorrow so I was going to spend some time looking for the cause of the misfiring, etc. so it looks like I'm going to be looking for this problem as well.

Common denominator to all my electrical gremlins - it rained heavily this afternoon before the problem started.

Any clues?
