Fuel Tank Replacement

Guys,

Im shortly about to replace my fuel tank (thanks to Jack) on my '91 UK TT.

How big a job is this? Heard someone mention that the whole rear sub-frame has do be dropped in order to remove the tank? Is this the case?

Cheers

No it isn't the case - I replaced my filler neck in around 1 1/2 hours so that was off and back on... You need to remove all boot floor linings and remove the squarish cover - undo 4 screws. Then reach inside and disconnect all rubber hoses and electrical connections - you'll lose some skin... Then there is the filler neck - about 8 bolts around the flange - you may well need a new o-ring gasket for this when replaced. Then, simply follow the two straps to the back of the car and they are held in place by a single bolt each. Oh did I say don't forget to drain the petrol out??? wink.gif

So fairly easy tbh...
