Ive had the power steering pump and belt recently chagned on my 300 with new steering fluid. however the hicas light and the abs light remained on. Anyhow the car worked fine till now, everytime i turn the steering it makes a loud grinding noise and i can see the steering fluid has gone significantly low. could the grinding noise be due to lack of fluid or am i looking at a greater problem?

It is possible that the noise is due to the low fluid level, or it could be the pump is fubarred. You need to top it up before driving the car again to find out, and also without fluid the pump is not lubricated you could easily cause damage to it. Have you checked for any leaks in the system ?
