Would a garage charge to do my anti roll bars??

The bloke that was going to do it thinks it'll be to much of a job for him to do so has said I'm best taking it to a garage, just want a rough idea of what they'd charge so i know if they're trying to take me for a ride or not!

Thanks in advance :)

Haven't a clue :( there's a knocking from the front passenger side and someone said it sounds like my anti roll bars! I'm a woman I know nothing lol

hi

that makes two of us then lol does not sound like muchof a job maybe bushes or anti role rubbers but im sure somebody will corect me

Can`t see it being that much for a Ford, they are quite easy to work on and parts are easily available.. £250 maybe?

Ask the garage for a quote not an estimate. If they quote you price they then can't change it where as an estimate can wildly change.

I would think that your probably looking at an hours labour plus any parts needed.

HTH

I had my anti roll bars done on my old Honda for about £180... but that was cos I got the parts uber cheap as one of my mates works at Andrew Page!

I'd probably allow about £220 or so...

All depends whats causing the knock, but if it really is just the anti roll bar links then I would not expect it to be anywhere near some of the above quoted prices. I havent worked on Fords for years but if they are anything like most cars now then you should be able to pick up anti roll bar links for £10 to £20 each and probably only about an hour to an hour and a half to fit. Get it to a decent independant garage for a quote, just to make sure thats whats required.

thanks i'll have a look around and ask about for a decent garage, never had to put cars in garages before as my ex ex used to do all the fixing and i aint asking him the knob lol

lol i certainly wouldnt ask him for that (knob) been there, done that, got the t-shirt and the kids lol

also i'd rather walk everywhere again than ask him for anything, he'll only assume i want him back lol

lol I kinda guessed that from previous posts, I was just being my usual cheeky self, had a couple of beers and couldn't resist :)

If only I was closer I'd have a bash at sorting your under carriage for you

its not a constant knock mainly when i go over uneven road surface, the boys say they can feel it in the passenger footwell, so someone on here think it was bigmincey said prob antiroll bars so im assuming its that, im a woman i know nothing about mechanics, well not things like that anyway, i know how to do oil and water, spark plugs and change a tyre so im not totally useless lol

Does sound like anti roll bar problems. Maybe just a worn bush or drop link, as mentioned.

PS. Let your kids sit on the seats, it's cruel keeping them in the footwell
