Cat temp sensors OK to remove?

Just had a new zorst fitted but the guy who did it couldn't remove the Cat temp sensors so he cut the wires...

I thought it was best to just tuck the sensors away but is it OK if they have been chopped off?

I've removed the bulb from the warning light on the dash but do these sensors have any effect on the engine?

No, they have no effect on the engine, but it probably would have been smarter to just tuck them up out of the way under the carpet.

Thats what I thought - wish he'd called me to ask.

He couldn't get the sensor bolts out of the rusty pipe and said they weren't needed so he cut them off.

Should be OK I suppose.

The trick is to do spray them with Plus Gas and then undo them when hot.

But you should be fine.
