I have recently acquired a UK 300 TT. Today I noticed the engine was lumpy at up to 1500 rpm when cold, B4 i thought there was a slight uneveness at tickover but not like today.

When the engine heats up it sounds ok and the lumpy tickover isnt there. I pulled out all the sparkplugs tonight, they are all fine and have recently been changed. The only other thing i noticed was the plugs onto the coils are broken and maybee I thought not giving a good connection but no difference when i pushed them onto the coils.

 

Any ideas anyone, I think a crypton tune to hopefully show up a weak coil or something like that as i dont think its terminal.

i have a similar problem with my zed, and it was there before i had the engine rebuilt and there after the rebuild.it idles ok when cold, but when i drive off it judders a bit, almost holding back and then going again. once warm its fine. i have been told that it maybe the temp sensor thats faulty and its causing incorrect fuel mixture at low temp? dont know if anyone can confirm this. hope this helps anyway.

That's a possibility, but I would start with cleaning the throttle bodies.

One possibility is the air regulator assembly. Try the following:-

Cheers guys......i have noticed a smeel of petrol when the car is cold, i thought i found the prob, a small leak at a pipe clip, but it was there yesterday when I first noticed the mis or lumpy running engine. Fuel consumption wise it is shocking but I never bought it for that so that isnt the issue lol.

Where is the best place to get a manual apart from Nissan as I work for a Commercial Truck dealer so I know the prices they charge.

I will look into the throttle bodies ,etc over the weekend, as I say thanks again guys.
