HKS ALC

Who has one?

What does it do?

Is it worth the money?

Is it a self fit?

Who can supply me one from stock and how much including carriage?

But I don't want the piece of string you mentioning unless it makes the car go faster that is! Suppose if it connected the 300 to the shuttle Enterprsie it might. Probably the only way I would break into the 12sec 1/4 mile times anyway.

There's a lot of people on here with them fitted. The only thing that seems to be recommended is that the auto box is in good condition, as the ALC puts more strain on the moving parts... One point though, I have NEVER heard of anyone who has fitted one and regretted it so....

Well I think I'm going to go for it as the autobox has been reconditioned recently and should be in as good condition as is possible. Worth a try. Where does it plug in?

AFAIK it just goes between the existing Autobox ecu and connector. One of the simplest of mods to fit...

CheerZ,

Andy

Excellent, I may even try to do it myself. LOL and then get the AA to transporter it the garage for me afterwards when it won't start - same as usual.

If you remember John ,i had this set up on my black swb, wish i had this on my present zed,a very marked difference in the way the box performed,i definately want to add this in the near future.

imagezxred.jpg

i have 1 ,it does make a big difference when ya floor it

ya gear changes are very fast and smooth at full throttle.

very easy to fit,ya just plug it into ya car autobox ece

there is no difference unless u are ar full throttle.jay

Not that I have one fitted to my car but have driven quite a few with and without HKS ALC's. Under normal driving conditions there is no noticeable difference from stock but when you floor it (i.e., WOT) the pressure on the lines are kept constant at the shifting point causing the shifts to be quicker. As mentioned above, this increases the stress on the moving parts.

My 2p worth.

Will the ALC make a noticeable difference to 0-60 and 1/4 mile times?

Ronnie, it has to. If the gearchanges are faster then 0-60 and 1/4miles have got to benefit from it. As I ordered it yesterday it may arrive on Saturday in time to be instaleld ready for going to Santa Pod on Sunday. It could knock off 0.5/0.75 sec or so over a full 1/4 mile maybe more / maybe less.
