My UK Spec came with a boost controller a Blitz Duel SBC to be exact.

 

Now the guy who sold me the car said it was in before he got it and the way i understood it was

 

OFF = Stock

Numbers 1 - 4 are pre-set pressure levels

M = manual

 

now ive never really messed with it much, sure played with levels 1-4 and there is a definite difference between 1 and 4 that's for sure. Curiosity got the better of me and i turned it to OFF today, and i appeared to have the same power more more of level 4, infact better response through the entire rev range.

 

Is it possible that this unit is infact getting bad pressure feedback from the vac and as such not functioning right? Its not something ive got much experience of

ive been reading the manual and settings 1-4 are set to a percentage of the maximum so 0 is stock and 100 is maximum boost, i notice the following

 

1 - 1

2 - 24

3 - 36

4 - 39

 

so its set to 39 percent between the stock and the maximum but how does it know what the Maximum boost is?

well it depends if the ch4 as been set to a desired setting for more boost ...

 

if u go in to ch1/2/3 setting and see what the Boost/gain percentage is at u will see if its better than other

 

boost % amount of boost u want

gain % how fast you want the boost to come in

 

Ch1 ( 13psi )

boost 15%

gain 5%

 

ch2 ( 14psi )

boost 20%

gain 10%

 

ch3 ( 15psi )

boost 25%

gain 15%

 

something alike ...

 

Off should be around 10>11psi

you can set a number for each setting

 

this doesnt respresent actual boost but its a percentage ratio

0 represents stock boost

100 represents maximum turbo charger capabilities

 

so if 100 is the maximum the turbos can actually push, whats a safe maximum?

regardless of the Boost percentage on the controller the Safe Max would be around 15>16psi Max ... depending on what other mods are on the car

 

Remap chip 14>15psi

555 injectors + Remap 15>16psi

 

these are only guide lines on what u car should do but it all depends on how its running and tuning

so 1.15 hkpa (15.9) psi is the max i checked the boost controller is saying ive had a peak of 0.97 hkpa so thats 14pi so in theory i can tweak it up a little more as i have larger injectors and some other twiddly bits
