Engine Cutting Out

Need a bit of help guys with my Jap 91 300zxtt..... bit of a wierd one though. The first start of the day is fine and she ticks over quite nicely, as soon as you go to pull away there's a drop in revs and a reluctance to accellerate and move up a gear through the auto box. After about a minute everythings running ok but..... if you brake quite heavily especially up a hill, the engine splutters and dies. Starts again no problem and off i go, with a little embarassing glow to my face. The braking scenario can happen at anytime whether the engine is hot or cold. The rest of the time she runs sweeter than a Tate & Lyle Lorry. Spooky? Any ideas guys?

This could just be a simple thing.

The Throttle Position Sensor is a small box, about the size of a match box, located at the front and on the right side of the plenium chamber. Take it off and clean it. This happened to me and this cleared the problem.

You could also try a few other things which are not hard but could also contribute.

Clean the Throttle Bodies.

Chaning the Air Filters.

Change the Fuel Filter.

Stuart

Thanks Stuart, I did clean the throttle bodies about 4 months ago and changed the air filters about the same time. The fuel filter i changed 3 weeks ago, so hoping it's not any of the above, although i'm not really sure how long it takes for the throttle bodies to coke up again? i Have took the connector off the TPS and reset the voltage, but i didn't remove the whole unit.... is this what you did? I was thinking along the lines of some kind of air leak/hose/brake servo pipe connector causing a lack of vacuum when i slam the anchors on, but i'm probably way off!

Cheers
