Just so much as looking at this thing makes me want to jump off a tall building. This thing is horrific in pretty much every way I can think.

 

Is there any way I can make my long-ass journeys over the next couple of days better in this piece of junk?!?!?!?

Ask Enterprise to swap it!!! Whenever I hire a car I book the most basic, and almost every time after asking nicely, I get a free upgrade :) best one was in Canada, I booked a Chevy Cavalier, and after being really cheeky I drove off in a Convertible Chrysler Sebring for the same price!!! just what I needed for a road trip over the Rockies for 2 weeks :)!!!

LOL - I have to agree.....

 

....the Prius has to be the worst car ever in my opinion - not only is it fugly (why not make an electric/hybrid car look like a car instead of a washing machine on wheels??); but I hate what it stands for. And by that, I don't mean its (alleged) environmental credentials - even though you get better economy from a Golf diesel - but I simply HATE the sanctimonious cretins who actually CHOSE to drive a Prius.....

 

.....those people are the very antithesis of what driving is all about; they look down their noses at the rest of us in v6 sports cars as if we have personally gunned down a polar bear!!! They generally hate driving but, because they have to, they drive a Prius - although they wear it like the proverbial hair shirt; as if to make a broad statement that they are actually saving our souls by not destroying the world as they pootle along at 56 in the middle lane....

 

Get it swapped mate - otherwise people like me will sadly mistake you for "one of them" I refer to above!!!

I found about 45-50 mpg with cruise control set at about 75. On a motorway run in my diesel Renault Laguna i get about 62... lol

Just a fashion statement Im sure I read to start being eco. Friendly you would have to do about 500k miles aband ybe highly un eco friendly batteries die after 200k miles

I got a poxy Vauxhall Meriva last week. Turn on the ignition and instant tourettes ! I don't believe I have ever driven such a nasty, gutless, useless, annoying, irritating, nagging piece of cak ! And for all the lack of performance it only did 42mpg. My Audi A2, with a smaller, three cylinder engine is significantly and I mean significantly, faster and does over 60mpg.
