Hi guys

got a weird problem I have intermitent overheating sounds daft but could this be in anyway be related to a heater matrix leak?

Featured Replies

define "intermittent" need more info bud, could be related if you do have a heater matrix leak as it would be drawing air into the system and also leaking coolant into the cabin.

OK, i was replying to your overheating issue which from the thread title was what the thread was about lol

The alarm issue could be all sorts. but you would probably benefit from putting a different post up about that, as that just got very confusing going from over heating to immobilizer problem like that.

hi vod

the imobilizer problem is all linked to the main problem as its electrical problem !!but would jump starting the car have anything to do with re-engaging/ dearming the alarm if at all related to the the non starting I know its bloody confusing

lift carpet on passenger side of car and remove the wooden board, check ECU and surrounding wires for damp / wet. do you have a curry type smell in the cabin? as that is sometimes associated with a leaky matrix.

Could be the connectors now suffering from being wet due to the matrix, best check the ECU connectors, are you sure its over heating? might just be faulty signals due to the wiring needing a good dry out and clean.

Steam, thats worrying, id be inclind to get that block tested for HG matey, they dont last long, mine over heated to 125 degrees twice and now i have smoke coming from my exhaust :(

done burp test on lower rad hose loads of bubbles came out of rad valve is there another way of eliminating all air ?

  • Author

took fan out and put 12v on it all ok checked rad/brake light fuse ok and switched relays on main fain box from air to fan and vice virsa

checked voltage at fan plug and only got 4v help please

let me know if it works bud i hope it does. you could do with hooking up conzult or datascan to see the actual ecu temp value rather than the dash mounted gauge.
