im new to electronic boost controllers, but i think mines set up wrong....

my car was chipped and fitted with boost jets by zedworld last year,

i since fitted a blitz boost controller, when i fitted it i removed the boost jets, but left the solenoids in place (wanted to maintain safety boost etc)

finally got my new gearbox fitted today so was able to take my zed on a proper drive for the first time in months.

the problem is my boost is all over the place, with the controllers gain set to off and/or 0 my boost is anywhere between 11- 14 psi???? (reading on the boost controller and my after market gauge) i thought it would revert to std with no jets????

with the boost jets in place it was a stable 11psi all the time, so im a bit confused.

they take their readings from the balance bar, and there is no more then a foot and a half of pipe to and from the controllers solenoid.

(scramble is turned off)

ive got the warning buzzer set at 15psi so ill know if it does anything stupid, but im a bit confused.

ADI is this the Blits icd 3 unit ?

if so ... Make sure u have it

Ch1

Manual Mode

Boost amount 15%

Boost Gain 5%

dont use scramble or auto mode

stock boost is around 11psi but it can be a little higher

with controller installed

hi mate, yeah its the one i got off you,

stock is 11psi? that's what mine boosted to with jets fitted...

its set up like you suggested, i just dont get why its so erratic. thought id done something wrong,

its 11psi, next time i boost its 14 then something else etc. (with no pattern)

It can be .....

Boost will be slightly diffrent from fast 1 2 3 ... Through gears to full load boost pulling in 4 5th

Stock boost is 9psi Mark, safety is 7psi. So if the cars boosting to 11 then it's probably got boost jets installed.

how much of the the piping did u replace and was it with 6mm ?

as i know when i tuck all mine off there was boost jets in all the pipes ... i had 3 per side

new pipe from the solenoid and from the intake pipe, none of the original pipe there.

only found 1 per side,

the stock solenoids seem to work i get 9-10 psi before the autobox is warmed up.

if i wanted to get rid of the solenoids, do i just take to out pipes directly to the actuators? what do i do with the wires?

yes pipes direct to act ... u can disconnect or take off the car

what size piping did u use ?

and u have got the boost controller set in Manual Mode not auto ..

thats right it doesn't work well in Auto on TT cars ...

both act T together and that go's to the OUT

both Boost T together and that go's to the IN

6mm would of been better as thats the normal size of the pipe work

i found 5mm in silicon fits tighter, 6mm silicon is more prone to come off imo,

i removed and refitted everything, moved the control unit into the engine bay so its closer to the boost source, and found the source line to the controller had come off slightly inside,

its now got a stable boost, but is still too high? off > ~11.2psi, set to 10 and gain 5 > ~13.1psi. and set to 15 gain 10> ~14.0psi

im happy leaving it set at 13.1 psi, its just strange why my stock boost is still 11psi?

it may just the valve unit restring the flow alittle giving it slightly higher Off/stock boost bit like what Jets do ..

the % settings i said are just a starting point ... u dont have to set it to that ..

higher % on gain will give you faster boost response but can give a little Spike in Max boost
