As the title says, is there anyone in telford able to go view a zed for me?

Really want to know if it has any rust on the rear arches / sills (might be hard to check due to body kit) and what the engine bay looks like / has any over heating issues?

PM me if subscribed, if not let me know ill send you a link to the zed in question.

Why such secrecy? I'm sure I've seen it on eBay?

No secrecy, just thought id ask, is it so wrong to say about PMing me? lol

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-NISSAN-300ZX-3-0L-TWIN-TURBO-AUTO-no-reserve-99p-start-NEW-GEARBOX-/150870835436?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item23209a40ec

thats the zed in question, im a bit concerned about the sills though, as i have the same side skirts, that hole in them can let water in, and if there is no drain holes in it, then the water just sits against the sills and rots them, also he says it hasn't been driven in the winter, but has winter tyres on? though ive had someone say it used to have Rota GTR's on, so that might explain it. not fussed about the damage to the front bumper, as i still want to stick a abflug type 4 on anyway.

Just keeping an eye out on possible replacements now boldys has sold lol

No mate was just wondering, thought there might be something horrendously wrong with it and any info like that should be on the open forum.

It looks a good car other than the scrapes mentioned and at £510 when I last looked is a bit of a bargain.

600 at the moment, though still 8 days to run, was up for 2500 buy it now, but now its gone to auction and people know what he was looking for, would be surprised if it reached that.

the bumper could be rubbed down and resprayed black at that edge and i doubt anyone would notice it, but still with some of the zeds ive had, i really want a good look over any one i choose to replace the one ive currently got.

ill then strip mine for the goodies, put what i want to keep on the new zed, then sell the rest and get the shell crushed.

Really not feeling good about the blue one now, especially after the accident, i know others have had it worse and repaired theirs, but im just at my tether with it to be honest now.

The car was up about over a year ago when i was looking for a z with rota wheels, only problem i found with it was that mileage didn't add up. On-line it said 112,000 Miles registered in 2004 and the mileage currently was rather different and a HPI check revealed it was a Cat d in 2001. I did look seriously to buy this car about more than a year ago till i got the reports! Not trying to put you off but just letting you know what i did find out, as your a fellow member!

if thats the case, ill pass then, not really interested in a cat D, might be something simple but i already have a car thats been in an accident and i really dont want to be getting another.

well mate i spend a bit of money on the checks etc, at least saves you some money and always glad to help!

Skirts are not the problem with the sills its the targa drains and the big opening where they pop out that cause the damage.

There is such a big gap from the skirt to the bottom off the sills they will never tap moisture. also once driven the air will very soon dry eveything out ;)

If you get to the point when you don't want to drive it then strip and scrap mate, and if it's bent I would!

Prob the right move on the cat D thing as well, there's plenty out there mate, you can even have mine at the right price haha.

going to wait on what the insurance say first. even if they want it repaired, its not going to repair the damage that has been done on a mental bases for the feel of the car.

well, PM'ed the seller about the cat d, he/she hasnt a clue what im on about and asked if i knew more about it, which i dont, hence me messaging them ? lol

He gave me the same reply a year ago, i still have the emails. He probably doesn't know himself, but a hpi check reveals it and as said you should check the mileage different how it became from 112,000 in 2004 to 68,0000 odd in 2012, unless the mileage runs backwards?

wonder if it has uk clocks fitted and the mileage converted from km to miles. its not 100% but its close enough

That's what I first thought - but 112k km = 70k miles....

....and the 112k was back in 2004!!

Ian mate; it sounds like you might be best avoiding this one....!! You've had your share of problem ZXs so take your time and find yourself one which should not give you any hassle.....!!

Richard:shifty:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

if you read the listing, the mileage is going to be way off.

Lets look at it properly. we have a HPI check that stats back in 2004 that the car had done 114k, these will be in KM's if the listing is correct, he then swapped the dials, which would then add miles on to it, he then swapped the dials again back for Jap spec ones, he is most likely now taking the reading from the new jap spec clocks. which would also now be in KM's, but obviously a lot lower.

If the 114k is in KM's like the listing implies, that equates to 70k miles back in 2004. (8 years ago) depending how much its been driven, id say its now close to either 90k or 110k miles.

To be honest, im not too fussed about the mileage discrepancy, its how well maintained its been. as we all know, even a low mileage car can be worse off than a high mileage car, as long as the higher mileage car has been maintained better.

Ive sent Jeff a PM to see if he has any more details on the car, as Rebel said the guy didn't know when the cam belt was last changed. rebel also said that it had plenty of receipts from zedworld, so it sounds like at least its been to a place that takes care of maintenance.

Im not fussed about the odd thing here and their, they are after all 20 year old cars,
