i pulled into a shell station last night and filled my 300zx twin turbo manual with optimax then when i came out the garage i put the foot down only to find when i hit 4k in 3rd it felt like the rev limiter kicked in so i backed of and tried again further down the road and this time it passed 4k but didnt seem to rev freely a few miles down the road it was fine is my engine in trouble?

I've had exactly the same problem but it only happened a couple of times and then cleared - That was about 6 months ago, which incidentally coincided with my ECU upgrade and it hasn't happened since.

 

Maybe it's just your ECU adjusting to a new fuel type or something! - Don't worry about it unless the problem becomes consistent!

My car has exactly that problem, accelerates well at low revs but slowly dies, once at about 5500revs no more power left at all (.

Only had the car 6 days. Probably just try sell it, maybe get a supra!

Did you not like it? Did you go see it/find some problems with it?

 

This not being able to rev thing really worries me.

i sent the guy an email asking if i could come and see it and bring someone who knew about them but he never replied so i just left it and bought the one i have

ok i now know that my car is only stopping at 4k when its cool as soon as its warmed up it revs freely not that i boot it when its cold but i mean for the 5-10mins after that its all clear
