The front undertray fell off the wifes 2005 Leon a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had time to put it back. Anyone know if this might cause problems at all? Can't see me having time to put it back in the next couple of weeks.

It'll allow stones etc to fly up into the bay and the filter may not be quite so efficient. But there are plenty of people on here that run there zeds without the undertray and haven't had any problems.

So, Inconclusion; Yes, No or Maybe...

Sorry I can't be much more help..

A little more drag will be suffered but unless your a racing driver I don't think it'll be too detrimental at normal road speeds :)

Engine bay may get dirty in bad weather though...... There's probably specific ducting on the undertray also but as previously said, many people run without on all the time :)

Cheers chaps.

I'll try to get it on as soon as I get the chance but sounds like it won't make the wheels fall off in the mean time!

I doubt it will do any real harm mate - the undertray helps keep water etc from splashing up and soaking the electrics; and might offer a bit of protection from debris flying up and damaging the sump, hoses and filters etc.....

.....but I suspect many cars have no undertray as they have either gotten damaged or the last garage to service the car forgot to put it back.... I think it was JeffTT who joked about there being a big pile of undertrays in garages everywhere....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

There are a few advantages for fitting undertrays, directing air flow, protection from water and foreign objects in the engine bay as has been mentioned. But iirc the main reason that manufacturers started fitting them was to reduce noise emissions from the engine. I wouldn't worry too much!
