hi guys done loads of egr removals on other cars but how difficult on an na because all the info relates to tt help would be good

Same as TT, i did mine when the engine was out, but is do able with it in.

I did mine when I took my gearbox out, most difficult bit is removing the egr pipes from around plenum, I cutine with a junior hacksaw as far back as I could, then removed and blanked off holes in plenum

i believe its a pig of a job been reading up on it will put on the list to do

had a closer look see what you mean about the plenum ,I am right in saying four oval blanks are needed

Depends upon why your removing it, if its a working egr valve but want to stop the function of the valve then simply remove the vacuum pipe that actuates it and block it off, takes around 1 minute and thats it finished.

 

If you suspect the valve is not working correctly and causing running issues then removal with the engine in is not nice, check the valve operating diaphram first via the vacuum pipe and if ok ( lifts and drops) then just remove and block off the pipe....be so much easier.
