Surface grinding

Hi all, posting on behalf of my dad really, he has nearly completed the restoration of his XJS 5.3 V12, he has now found the valve clearences to be out, the upshot is that he needs the shims currently in place to be surface ground down by 3 to 4 thou. is there anybody out there who has access to a suface grinder and would be prepared to spend half an hour flashing them to the required size,

    any engineering company should be able to do it cheap - find a place that refaces cyl heads etc & they should be able to sort it :)
