For those that workout and want to shape up. Plus have maximum motivation!

Coming from my expert professional opinon if you want to lose weight, tone up or just get in alot better shape then read on.

I have been doing a workout for the past 6 weeks now (excluding my 2 weeks break back in the UK) and i have to say it is the best training i have ever done. For those that have met me i am on about 9% bodyfat and i have dropped 6kg off doing this and i have nothing to lose. It is either this or what we like to call the OSPREY diet (body armour).

INSANITY is what it is called and if you have ever heard of it you may be able to agree with how insane it looks and it is just that. I have had a few people that have been doing it as well out here and all of them have stopped it claiming that they `want to get massive` or `will do it closer to the end of the 6 month tour`. Fact is i think it is just too much for some. Scour youtube and you will find loads of sucess stories that from doing the sessions i would say actually are not publicity stunts. the 2 people i know that have kept up with it, 1 having completed it are both female so it just goes to show.

These workouts are breaking the best of people with them loosing the motivation because they know exactly how hard the next session is going to be.

If you like a challenge then give it a go. I have 3 weeks of it left and i have never had so much agaility in the whole of my career and may just be at my best fitness in 14 years even though im now 32.

Hopefully this video works as a little taster.

ive seen these on one of the selling channels, you can pay for them, use them for 60 days and if you dont like them you can give them back, i wouldnt mind these to be honest, im always at work an hour early in the morns and wouldnt mind doing this instead of the sit ups and press ups which dont seem to be working

but i also think that eating correctly is a big factor in this aswell, i always seem to have no will power or energy when doing this so maybe my diet is all wrong

and there is that lol, i do love me stella although its just a weekend thing now (well apart from tonite as ive nipped a sly one in whilst cleaning the kitchen lol)

Marty, is that similar to the P90X? A few of the lads I know are raving about it and seeing good results.

That looks like a nightmare, wouldnt mind trying it but reckon id need to get a hell of a lot fitter before i started it!!

I've got the P90X box sets (I picked them up in a PX back in 2009). The P90X programme is very good for gaining knowledge on what does and what doesn't work for you (exercise routine wise and nutrition etc) but they are very different in intensity to the insanity workouts. Much, much slower for one!

Personally (for the average person who wants to lose weight and improve flexibility and exercise technique) I'd go for the P90X programme over most others, purely on the basis that a lot of care has been taken to ensure that the average person undertaking the programme doesn't push too hard too soon and therefore risk of injury is greatly reduced.

For a squaddie who want's to 'smash the phys' to the extreme, Marty's heading down the right route :ninja:

*though if no respirators/gas masks are involved, then it's a bit gay :tongue_smilie:

what would you recommend for someone like me then? im rather skinny and no matter how hard i try i cant gain weight. looking at the insanity training im tempted but given how skinny i am im not sure ill gain any weight?

I personally would advise that you go down to your local gym and arrange an initial consultation with a qualified personal trainer/instructor, as there are far too many variabls to consider (health/lifestyle etc) and advise offered on tinterwebz' forums can be mis-leading (albeit mostly un-intentionally so).

The principles are very much the same though, eat clean, strip back under supervision before 'gradually' bulking up over a prolonged period (18 months), good balance of heavy'ish weights (and CV) *and elephant steroids injected directly into your ass'

on a serious note though mate, definately go and speak to somebody who will be able to formulate a personal training and nutrition programme, who can maintain a watchful eye over your progress throughout and who will be able to adjust your programme accordingly

Any body that has time for that cant have a hard enough day job and has way to much energy.i just dont understand why ?? imho, has anybody ever lived longer or proved it improves life ! each to their own but some people have way to much time to kill.

Diet is a major factor in succeeding with training, at least half the battle imo. When im training I literally spend more time in the kitchen preping food than I do in the gym lifting iron. As much as I admire you for doing something you will unfortunately find that pressups and situps alone will result in little gain and that's when the enthusiasm dwindles. Have a clear, set program like this with variety and a challenge will work wonders with a clean diet imo

Lol at jap.slapper, where did the pics go? There are so many inappropriate comments that can be made about that second pic lmao

Hey folks good responses :) Ive got P90X as well but got that 2nd so doin this first. From what i have seen of P90X and heard from people it is less intensity as stated but still gets good results just in 90 days instead. I know one lass that went from Insanity and tried my P90X but she couldnt get into it as it was less intensity. It is still a good workout though that you can do in your living room for an hour a day i think it is 6 days a week maybe. Alot of people dont have the time and fitness is a life choice not just an hour a day so the people that do do it make the time :)

Also i have heard about one called `Rush fit` that is made by one of the MMA fighter that is meant to be somehwhere in the middle maybe and the best out of the 3 so i heard. I havent looked into it yet and it hasnt appeared in the shops out here yet but Mr Afghan is looking into his sources ;)

I was amazed though at looking at some of the you tube vids for Insanity and seeing size 20ish women saying they have been doing it and i was thinking they would die but having stuck to it they have dropped to say a size 16 so if they can do it well its easy for anyone else.

Ill look into gas mask workouts and things got a few USMC up here and even Insanity is too much for them although it is surprising how not fit they actually are they just smash the weights all the time.

A lot of USMC are like that mate, massive creatine junkies who are quite happy to bench press anything (and anybody for that matter), though take them out for a run and in no time it starts to look like a scene from Dunkirk.

I haven't heard of that 'Rush' routine but I'm guessing by the name that it'll be something to do with UFC's George St Pierre, who's cardio by the way is flawless..

*I'll see if I can re-post some pics (Edit: all done)
