Is it wise to change the pipes too when doing the PCV's? Is the blue hosing tht people get good enough? And do I need specific sizes?

It depends how crusty your old ones are really. Chances are that they're buggered though so probably just as well to. They're not just hoses though, they have little brushes inside them and are tapered, so best to just get oem ones.

Tbh mate I think Mr F is about as cheap as you can get anywhere in the UK. Unless your getting a discount of course :)

As steams has said the pcv hoses have got flame arrestors (little wire brush things, look like a chimney sweeps brush........the two hoses off the front of the camcovers have these in) and restrictors in them....the only one with nothing in it is the one at the rear of the passenger side head, but its tapered (also a bit awkward to replace).Worth changing them all if doing pcvs as well, mine were well knackered when i did them and they'd gone rock hard.

 

after changing them all the engine was noticeably smoother and quieter.

 

I think i kept the packets they came in with the part numbers on.....will have a look later :)

I got the valves from mr. F and then the pipes from my friend for like £43 - score :)
