Not been on here for a good few years.

Basically after some help if anyone knows the whereabouts of 2 300zx details below both off road for a number of years please let me know last know whereabouts in the Walsall area.

Its a long story but years ago without naming any names I trusted a guy to do a lot of work on my 300ZX and he kept promising he would do this for me even had the money to do this work for parts it was going to be a top engined high powered Zed. Anyway about 3 years ago he relocated to walsall and took the cars with him on a trailer promising the work would get done. Anyway for the last few months I have been busy so not contacted the guy for a while but now I cannot get hold of him have no address and even tried the last place where he worked to no avail.

Anyway somebody has tried registering the cars below with the DVLA I have no option to go to the police with all this in the morning with all the details.

Black 300zx wide arch strosek kit Image wheels with one space saver wheel on registration H201KDB will be in need of some repair now as the engine was taken out also

White 300zx standard registration BCZ5904.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers Daz

Cheers hope so need them back.

Basically I trusted a somebody too much who has let me down

Now I feel they may have been sold on to someone who has no idea that they belong to somebody else.

The only thing is anybody can apply to register a car it does not mean you are the owner if you are the registered keeper according to the DVLA so no option now but to go to the police.

Geez, that's bad news.

With something as serious as that I wouldn't be worried about naming names!

Why not contact DVLA too as they will obviousty have the details of who tryied to register it. They may not give you the information unless the Police have been involved but I would imagine it's worth a call ;)

I do remember seeing a ZX for sale with a Strosek kit on Pistonheads a couple of months ago... cant remember if it was blue or black though so this probably doesnt help much

You need a court judgement for them to release the registered keepers name

I have a picture from years ago which I can put on.

Years ago it was one of the feature cars on the Zcentre web site looked mint then had full strosek wide arch kit all reupholstered in two tone leather deep dish chromed wheels made at Image wheels in Birmingham god knows what state it will be in now.

The next stage was doing the a serious amount of work to the engine which never happened I had promise after promise it would get done.

Had a few of the parts for it with the car they will be gone now I expect also.

I went to the police today they have given me an incident number and are ringing me back with a crime number.

Looks like if I want to get any money back I paid him I will have to go for a solictor and county court I will try and get the car back first before I pursue that route which I will do now, just need to locate where the guy is these days now also.

Thanks for your support guys because if I do get it back I want to get it back on the road all in it's former glory.

Also a doner car missing white 300zx targa top twin turbo reg BCZ 5904 which was complete also christ knows where that has gone also.

No I stopped insuring them as they where declared SORN.

Basically I was told they where safe and secure and it would not have gone anywhere fast as he had taken the engine and gearbox out to do the work which unbelievably went missing thats why I bought the white donor car also to start again with a sound engine.

Cost me a lot of money this because of somebody I trusted.

Cheers Steve if I need some help will let you know.

I will keep you all posted what happens

JeezD what a nightmare!! your shocking story is bizzarely similar to many of the so called "zed specialists" that sprang up over the past 10 years most on the back of genuine garages but with no money, little actual business skills and definately no morals but buckets full of spin, these characters are little more than the dodgy geezers of times gone by with a coat full of bent watches.....I hope this somehow gets resolved....fingers crossed.

Thanks Jeff you are dead right there hit the nail on the head where quite a few so called motorsport specialist that sprouted up 10 years ago without the knowledge of how to run a business and ordinary mechanics who did not have the specialist knowledge required to do complex engine builds.

At the time there where a few more in my boat but mine was the last case he had to sort out.

If I get it back Jeff I may be giving you a shout the car was mint when I took it there will require some work now to get it upto scratch.

I am talking quite a sum of money for an engine build he got off me but I have noticed recently you can buy a complete race spec engine from the states for a lot less than what I handed over to get the parts required in.
