big intercooler

hi does anyone know how hard these conversions are and if they are a lot better here is all the info i know about it from www.300zx.com.au and is this a cheap price?

thanks guys

300ZXTT Monster Intercooler, 600mm by 300mm by 90mm, tube and fin, twin in twin out with 2 inch (50mm) alloy pipes (lightweight and better heat dissipation), full kit bolts straight on and will fit standard front bar with minor trimming of the cover and reinforcement. Nice radius on tanks for less turbulence and better flow. Mandrel bent tig welded pipes, same as factory and all bolts straight up to factory brackets comes with silicone hoses, clamps etc, requires 02 Race pod (or similar not wide like HKS), and relocate oil cooler easily done with length of hose.

ps. how much do you think i would be looking at paying for it to be fitted from a garage that charges £200 +vat to do a timing belt?

Featured Replies

Only 200 lbs. to replace a timing belt? The Nissan dealership wanted to charge my $758 (about 500 lbs.) They also wanted $600 to change the rear main seal (which I can do next time I replace the clutch). My engine and gearbox started leaking oil when I put zMax in it, which got worse when I switched to synthetic. Obviously, the seals are all old, and need to be replaced.

I've heard of people on twinturbo.net replacing for one huge rad and getting engine cooling problems. Can't remember its just road or race suited. But I do remember something about it creating a blockage for the airflow to the stock rad / oil cooler etc. Perhaps the problem was only with one make.

All I can say is do some research.

cheers jez im just looking at the moment anyway i just bought my Z and cant afford one right away but i will check that out now

thanks

Paul

okay. Anyhow - unless you are going 600+ bhp and spending 1000s I would think bigger intercoolers in the stock position are the best safe option... and cheaper
