Who's the cheapest courier you have used? Royal mail seem a tad pricey. Sending my tubs off to be inspected next week, fingers crossed.......

one of the cheapest? parcels2go, one of the most reliable is definitely NOT parcels2go

one of the best is paisly freight, and definitely much more reliable than parcels2go.

Lol, bad experience there then? i've used Paisley to move an engine before but they were nearly £30 more expensive than the pallet company used to move the last one. I'll give em a try, ta

was it something i said that gave it away?

You shouldn't diss parcel2go, if you put in 'cute' dimensions, myhermes and collect+, these are cheap and I have had no bother.

collect+ is fabulous for small 4 kgs items, book it, print off the tracking details, attach and take at your leisure to a local shop, he will scan it so you can track, 3 days later it will be a signed for delivery. This is usually about £4 and the equivalent with royal mail untracked can be double that.

Not always parcel2go fault as it could a courier issue :thumbup1:

twice ive booked with parcels2go, both times with different couriers, both times they never showed for collection, then when it was rebooked the first time around i waited in all day, and they never even knocked the door, they must of just stuck the "we missed you" card through and legged it, and trust me if they had knocked i would of heard it, hell i can hear next doors door being knocked. so had to rebook it again, by that point it was the weekend and had to wait for monday. so much for next day delivery.

on the second occasion, again no show on the day its was booked in for pick up, i then emailed them and explained, they rebooked it in, and again no show, i rebooked it in, but then it was the weekend again and had to wait for the following monday.

Sorry bud, ive had none of these issues with paisly freight and would much rather pay a bit more to get less hassle, every time i take a day off work to wait for a parcel to be picked up, IM loosing money not them, so im never going to use them again.

Paisley freight use the same couriers and they have always shown on the day its been booked in for pick up, so as far as i can see, its a parcels2go thing not the courier.

I wont be using them anymore, but if others want to thats up to them.

Thanks for the help chaps much appreciated, fingers crossed for a not to savage repair bill for the tubs:laugh:

Vods I understand exactly were you're coming from that would have narked me right off. I had a similar experience when I lived in Oz, the post boy was running from his van and putting 'sorry we missed you slips' through the door without even trying to deliver things. Never did manage to catch the little **** in the act though unfortunately :mad2:

Out of interest, do these companies actually weigh the items? I don't have scales so an educated guess is the best I can do :whistling:

they dont weigh them, unless they suspect its majorly overweight. lol

No, it is up to you to be honest :shifty: as long as you are not too greedy nobody will bother

When I took a reverse panel to my local shop using the collect+ service booked through parcel2go, I was there when the courier driver came to collect so good timing, the driver.........a yodel employee

The trouble with a royal mail standard parcel is for one it's expensive, two, you just don't where it is and when you're going to get it
