J299 has the Bailiey blow off valves fitted down by the intercoolers, where as I notice a lot of valves on other cars are fitted close to the turbo Plenum outlet areas.

Is there a performance advantage to either location?

There are actually no performance advantage regardless as BOV's are not a performance enhancing part.

Ive got mine plumbed in where my old recircs were, i put Dump to atmos on due to annoying goose honk, one thing i have noticed though, since adding them every now and then my engine cuts out when breaking if i have my foot on the clutch, its only been like this since i changed to dump to atmos valves.

my BOV's are in the engine bay on the turbo to intercooler pipe .....

because of the Y pipes I bought... like vod says... whatever floats your boat... :)

Technically they are more efficient the closer to the Intake plenum.

However the stock recirc location, that the Bov's replace are in the nose panel, so the easiest and cheapest fitment is to replace them there. To fit them in the intake pipes you need a more expensive Hardpipe kit made to fit BoV's

Most likely weak BoV spring, or (if its adjustable type) needs adjusting, as its causing a vacumn leak at idle.

Thought, perhaps the closer to the Turbo the better spooling you would maintain.

On an asthetic note, they make a good tehcnical feature as well as a talking point when on show, so think I will relocate them to the bay when engine rebuilt.

Cheers

mate you car looks great, any other pictures from different angles. those wheels just look great on a black zed, they are what im trying to source.

Cheers Stu, the wheels are from wheelmania, they were refurbished last year to remove all the corrosion due to the previous owner living by the sea in Edinburgh, they came out very slightly smoked, which I think really worked.

The car has a lot of subtle detail such as all LED lights (brake, rear main, indis and fogs) as well as the corvette style triple rear lights.

Got a major engine problem, which is going to be sorted shortly, but want to detail engine in chrome, black and carbon, rather than the Samco accessories...all in good time.

apologies all for the randon size images, trying to use Photobucket and with my laptop it's sloooow! to change things!

Wheels are Mania Vortex with 8.5 x 19 Front 9.5 x 19 Rears.

Yup, that's a very nice zed! Funny, I seen one almost identical in Edinburgh this week. Same wheels aswell.

Back to BOVs, I think they look rubbish and should be hidden. Sorry, if that's a little over technical
