Hi all, Z's been sleeping for 5years (due to a whole range of circumstances) in a cozy dry garage, but now it's time to finally get it back on the road, just wondered what you'd suggest i check out/change before i try and drive somewhere for an MOT, and also what'd be good to have serviced on it after 5 years of sleep.

Cheers

Change all the fluids as they've probably turned to sludge by now. Inspect the cambelt for any sign of deterioration. Pull the fuel pump fuse out and crank the engine a few times to get the oil moving (if it's a TT the chances are that any oil will have drained out of the turbos and this will help flush the oil round).

These are thing I would do before starting it up, there's probably other things to do but I think these are the most important.

Great stuff, so let me get the list of fluids right..... Coolant, Engine Oil, Gearbox, Brake. Think that's it.

I did at least remember to leave the handbrake off, phew.

Yup, that's the stuff. Might also be worth putting a new fuel filter on as well for piece of mind..

Oh, and welcome back to the club mate :)
