So since i got the 300 about 2months ago ive slowly been rebuilding it as and when i get time.

So this is what has been done so far, i started with the under side of the car,

started to strip the suspension off ready to strip the old underseal off

Once the old underseal was off i rubbed it back and gave it a coat of zinc primer, then a coat of underseal

I then dropped the subframe off and took the worn out old bushes out, then sent the subby off to be shot blasted and powder coated,

dont post yet more to follow lol

Next up is to zinc primer and underseal the rest of the underside and spray the engine bay, and also lots of other things so check back for some updates as and when i get round to them

that subframe looks so sexy, something mine really needs sorting out. one of the bushes has decided to leak all over my exhaust so really needs to come off and get sorted out.

Where did you get it shot blasted and powder coated?

I went to viper coatings for shot blasting in pinxton £15 then over the road to ashfield coatings they've got loads of colours £50,

2 of the bushes were leaking when I took mine off

Nice job, and nice colour. Just refurbed my subframe as well and also found one of the bushes to be shot. It wasnt leaking it was bone dry, so obviously been gone for years.

How did you find the driftworks solid bushes for fit. I fitted their polybushes and had to get spacers made to get the subframe height right and then add spacing washers as the internal sleeve's were too short.

Great fit perfect, you knock the whole metal collar out and knock the new ones in

In theory the poly bushes were the same, they are a great fit in the frame. It's just when you go to fit the frame it sits 10mm closer to the body. I could have left it as an easy way of reducing ride height :). Decided against it as I didn't want any issues with fouling or with knocking the prop out of alignment.

Hiya mate, your not far away from me and Boldy then in Hucknall!:thumbup1:

Yep, really nice bud. What's the deal with solid bushes anyway, do they actually make the ride harsher? Improve the handling?
