urgent!!! speed convertor

I have this evening removed the speed convertor on my 1990 jspec non-turbo 300zx. and something has gone wrong.

I seem to have shorted something. and now the speedo, rev counter, and dah lights do not work.

and also my steering is still heavy

is there a fuse that can be replaced to fix all of this if so where is it located or have i done some terrible damage to my baby!!

please please please someone help

thanks

Mick

why did you remove the convertor? Was it broke/causing problems? If you just dont want it then you want 20 quid for it?

Sorry I forgot to mention that the only light that comes on on the dash is the battery warning light... which i suppose shouldnt come on..

any sugestions...

cheers

Mick

I was having problems with intermitend power steering problems, many people in this forum have sid that the sensors can cause this

There is a fusebox by the gas pedal. A translation can be found here http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/fuses.htm

Im not sure which fuse it would be, but I hope a fuse is the problem.

I have found the fusebox and replaced one of the fuses that had blown. Thanks

all dash instrumentation is now working apart from the speedo. also the pwersteering is still heavy.

is it possible that by removing the speed convertor i have damaged the speed sensor.

the speedo was working before i removed the convertor and shorted the fuse.

any sugestions..

Thanks

Mick

I have o experience in this, but I think it would be possible to short out the speed sensor when connecting the wiring, or the other possibility would be that the sensor input is grounded out which may have blown the fuse to begin with. I would suggest rechecking each of the connections you changed.

If the speedo is dead and PS is heavy and maybe the s HICAS is on then you might have a faulty sensor. This knowledge is gained from this forum after having a similar problem with my speedo.
