June 14, 201213 yr Hi all, Ive got a leak on my drivers targa, nothing strange there you say. Ive followed Jeffs write up in the FAQ section and it still leaks. Ive taken a couple of pics to show where the water is getting in, could the targa seal be goosed? Cheers, Rob Not the best pic, the targa is to the top of the pic.
June 14, 201213 yr Author Haha im bloody threaders with this car mate, seriously thinking of getting rid now.
June 14, 201213 yr youve been saying that for a while but your still here lol. like we siad its all about working through the teething period once tahts out the way it will be fine :) do what i did and write yourself alist and cross it off as you go really helps keep you focused and grounded with yiouir eventual target. did you sort out the alternator nut?
June 14, 201213 yr Author Got the list mate, cross one off and two get added. There is so many things to do on it and i don't have the money, time or inclination to do it mate. I've got no interest in it.
June 14, 201213 yr See the little flap that's at a right angle to the front? Lift it up and place a piece of matchstick under it. It may help as the water is supposed to be stopped by that and redirected. Since it's flattened the water is going over the top.
June 14, 201213 yr Author Steams, do you mean the bit that looks like it runs up to the centre of the car?
June 14, 201213 yr Steams, do you mean the bit that looks like it runs up to the centre of the car? That's the bit mate, first pic, right on the edge, there should be a little channel under it.
June 14, 201213 yr Author Cheers mate, will the matchstick reshape the rubber or is getting a new one a better idea?
June 14, 201213 yr Cheers mate, will the matchstick reshape the rubber or is getting a new one a better idea? It may help keep the gap open, but it will need to be replaced every now and again, I'm afraid. You just need something to keep that flap open to allow the water to sent down the rubber and out the proper holes. A new one would be the best option though bud, for piece of mind if anything. :)
June 14, 201213 yr Author Cheers buddy Ill look into it. Steve, I just need to get some jobs done and feel like its moving forward again. The niggly jobs are getting me down mate as i seem to be spending hours trying to fix it and not actually finding the problem.
