Dump Valves

A few questions about them to those that fitted them, or have experience of them..

1) did they make that much difference, is the noise that noticeable?

2) how easy were they to get in

3) do I need two? or just the one?

Hi Nix, I was thinking of doing this myself to eliminate my 'goose honk'. From what I can gather...

1. Those that have them love them, a lot of people think the standard recirc valves do a better job anyway. Noise depends on which valves you fit, some are engineered to be noisy.

2. They don't look too difficult, have a look at AndyP's tech links.

3. Two. Someone's gonna hate me for pointing it out but....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1852047019

Cheers!

I thought the whole point of the recirc valves was becuase the MAF sensor detects airflow before calculating petrol intake? if so wouldn't BOV's lead to over fueling due to non-excess air being blown out the system?

Yes, but for some reason people would rather make a noise than have the car running as it was meant to!

BOV's sound cool no doubt about it biggrin.gif, running rich isnt really a problem, might be lucky enough to blow flames out of a de-cat'd exhaust system wink.gif.
