Ok, where do I start...........

 

I have been having this feeling for some time now...... Should I keep the'ol girl or give her up for someone to takeover/take care off.

 

I look at my 300 and admire her to the max!!!! But, when I get these little running issues, I think.... fook it, sell up and be done. Now these always turn out to be small niggly problems that are easily solved, but it does wear you down. My only issues are; rough idle and an intermittent vibration from the front end, and I have strived endlessly to try and solve with no resolution to an end, but there must and always is an end, isn't there.............

 

My next worry is that, I seem to drive my 300.... like a girl, sad I know, but I always turn down the stereo and try to listen for things that are/may be going wrong.... then rack my brain into thinking what the problem might be, even if there is no problem from the start!!! I'm going mad,.... Surely?!?!

 

My next worry is, when I take my 300 out, I do not want to leave it in any car park, local residence, places where I cannot see her....... Jesus, I am sad.... lol.

 

And finally, I don't think I could sell her at all........ Just to see someone either thrash her to the ground, or neglect the beauty that I have produced..... This would break my heart...... But, and it is a big BUT.... I think I may be at the end of my journey in producing an awesome project.

 

My mind is in turmoil....

 

Maybe I'm just having a mid life crisis.......lol

 

Ok, I think I just need to share this........ So off to bed in a minute, and I will most probably have a different view tomorrow.......... Dunno.

Your Z is stunning Al, you know that if you sell it you WILL have withdrawal symptoms... why not book it in at zedworld for a once-over and have a look at those two issues? if they were fixed surely you'll be able to enjoy it more.

 

If you sold it and got something else, you'd only start being paranoid and find lots more faults with it or things that aren't to your liking... its a vicious circle, lol :)

Don't get rid, get an alternative but equally enjoyable car, then change between the two, keeps em fresh :)

 

I have my 300, but enjoy driving my 350 or my old auto e30 just as much, I think it's because they are all such different cars.

 

Do that and then use the least mint one to go places where you will have to park up. :)

Or buy a ford and when your feeling the should I get rid of the z, take a ford for a spin and 'boom' things will be seen clearly again! :D

Let me tell u fella if your that way inclined it will be the same with any car you get . Best let my wife use it for a bit, she has the complete opposite feelings you have and when she gives it back to you covered in kids sick sweet, wrappers,sticky hand markes all over the windows and dash, madonalds bags and completely filthy and battered it might well cure you ...it did me and now I don't give a f&@£k I just drive it to get to places if I can bear to get in it and I guess at the end of the day that's what it's for

 

So yours look pretty neat I would keep it and enjoy it if I were you

i haven't owned mine for that long, but when it plays up, it sometimes crosses my mind to get shot but then i feel like slapping myself as i've always wanted a zed and although mine

is far from mint, i love it!!!

i also know what you mean about not leaving it where you can see it! your definately not sad. the first week i owned mine, i took it into town, left it in the car park only to come back to find some c**t had run a key down the passenger side.

I would never let that happen to my 300...........lol... I even carry baby wipes in the car to wipe up any dirt/dust that is on my interior panels........... How obsessive am I...... PMSL...lol

i haven't spend anywhere near that on mine and it shows, but i still wouldn't get rid!

if i had of spent that much i would never sell it, i would probably keep it till the day i died and then get buried in it :)

as for the key mark, its happened before on other cars and no doubt it will happen again in the future. no matter what you do, there will always be some tw4t who is jealous of what you've got.

but i'm a believer of what goes around comes around, so hopefully whoever it was that scratched my car gets their payback by having his b*ll*x cut off!

Yeah. Some git keyed my mx5 the day after I got it. I paid a lot for it cos it was absolutely mint. Gutted. Still, at least it wasn't Zebedee

On a serious note mate, I know exactly where your coming from. I hate people going near mine and it's off the road more than it's on. I also listen for every tiny sound which is annoying, especially when you can't find the problem. But I always think... But I love her. So it makes me want to keep it forever, but where do we draw the line? Personally, I think I'll keep it for a long time and I hope you keep yours too as it's beautiful and would break your heart to see it drive away.

you wont sell mate, current market is crap. even with 40k receipts. you still wouldnt get 5k for it.

 

wait till recession is over and people arent all broke, and can afford fuel again, then the price WILL go up and you might make 8 or 9k for an example as good as yours.

Its a keeper Alan get the zed down to Zedworld and they will sort it out and start loving it again its a great zed you need to enjoy it:thumbup1:

I think you answered your own question when you said you dont think you could sell her.Dont know if its just me but zeds seem more reliable if they are used regularly.

I know the feeling don't think I will have mine much longer, I only use it to drive to and from work during the week then it spends all weekend doing nothing!

I can imagine TBH! I kinda wished i sold my zed years ago before i got too involved in modding. Causes too much stress and costs far too much money. If it wasnt there it would be 1 less stress, and i'd have a 911 turbo :)

im also in limbo land and get this feeling alot. its a proper pita but there is nothing out there for about 10K that will put a smile on your face like a zed.. As craig said he now has F all to think about

 

If i was going to replace my zed it would be for the 6.2l v8 VXR Monaro but there about 13K/15K and there not really that amazing to look at but they are nice :)

 

on another side with the vibration have you changed your sterring rack bushes??

I think it was a moment of madness looking back on the thread and the "small issues" i am having at the moment, could also be down to the crap weather we are having and not being able to enjoy a fine example of a legendary sports car, born in the 90's, that looks stunning in this day and age........

 

MY 300 IS HERE TO STAY!!!!!!.........
