creaky brakes.

ive recently fitted some 15mm hubcentric spacers since this when the brakes are hot they creak. i have no vibration at speed no clunking no funny behaviour and i also have no creaking whilst rolling at speed. as soon as the car drops below 10mph or so and i apply the brakes once theyre warmed up crek creak, it will even do it at a standstill. so im confused now. all i can think is that the spacers are too tight and where the disc is expenading its putting stress on the assembly. i got an assisatnt to press the brake at standstill and you can hear the creak through the centre of the wheel.

this morning obviously cooled down they didnt do it anymore. :s

i did the nuts up at 84 newton metres.

yeah i think tahts the plan tomorrow evening. guess il; have to take it for a spin nm eh lol

Most common cause of creaking brakes is the shims need cleaning off, they have a sort of black coating that comes off and with copper slip or similar on them bits of dirts get in there and then when you appy the brakes the noise is the bits crunching up.

Remove the pads and shims completely clean then and remove any loose black coating on the shims, then only apply a small amount of copper slip or similar and all should be quiet again.

Ps dont push the pistons back without the bleed undone or it can fubar the master cylinder.

sorry didnt pick up on this, we took it all apart and cleaned it all as it was minging with old brake soot, put them back together but sadly didnt have any copper grease at the time. so put them back together and well they still creak. so i guess my next thing is to copper slip them up. the spacers have been taken off and they still creaked with them removed. so im pretty sure they have sod all to do with it. any other common causes rather than dirt?
