Hi Guys

Have started to polish the Plenum (so slooooow!) and will then move on to the throttle bodies and linkage. How do you super polishers get into the nooks and crannys of the throttle body?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Firstly will need to remove the TB from the plenum, so you have them seperated from the linkage. I found using the cutting compound with the sisal mop was enough on its own for the throttle linkage and springs, so doesnt need sanding. Throttle body a combination of dremel with various wheels and i used an oakey rust/paint removing wheel from B&Q to start the surface removal then onto a brillo style wheel ( smoother, not as coarse) then onto the the sisal mops.

Strip the throttle body down to its core. Polishes really easily then as u have full access to it all. Take a pic of how it goes together before you start to strip it down.

This is how it will look after a good hr of polishing.

Worth the effort me thinks.

Took me a total of 13 hours to do my FTO Plenum (by hand mind....):

mind you did the thermostat in that time, I forgot about that till I saw the pic. Was hard work by hand.
