Brake squeal

Hi Guys,

As most of you know im not the best mechanically but learning quickly...

Ive changed discs and pads on the front and now they squeal intermittently when brakes applied..

What causes it and how do i stop it?

Cheers

I would get the pads back out and check for any contamination on both surfaces, also make sure the caliper piston surface is free from dirt and the retaining pins and plates.:thumbup1:

Cheers Lee.

Would you coat the back of the pads in copper slip or anything?

sure would mate, just make sure you don't get it on the discs or front of the pads.

While the pads are out, might be worth checking that the pistons are moving,

just see if you can push them back slightly. You may have 1 or 2 sticking.

Make sure you undo the bleed nipple a bit first though or you risk popping the seals in the bmc.

Cheers Guys...

Treat myself to some ebc redstuff pads... the mtec drilled and grooved discs...

What do you use to clean the pads and discs to ensure theres no contamination?

This may not affect you Harby.....

I purchased some Ferrodo 2500 pads for my 300 some time ago, from the internet and a trusted site. I had very bad brake squeal from the offset, and it turned out that he pads were preformed from a Leyland DAF truck!!!!!!! Unbelievable, I know....... Now changed to yellow stuff and all is looking great!!!!
