Is it possible to buy the rubber trim that goes from the bonnet to the boot, over tops. For some reason mines showing old age all of a sudden.

Also the rear window rubber trim keeps shrinking away from the top quarter!

Anyone goy any contacts or ideas.

Harve,

If you are talking about the trim that runs along side the windscreen.

Mine looks crap and some other people have said that it wears away to a scruffy chrome finish.

I remember on TT net someone managing to paint their trim. It may be in there FAQ section.

Try this: -

If my link doesn't work search on TT net for "Trim Paint"

Hi,

I am going to try painting mine with "smoothrite" paint, this week...if I can get the wiper arms off I will paint the plastic grill at the base of the windscreen as well!

Hi Jez,

Have you painted your trim yet? I'd love to know if the paint you mentioned worked as I'm nearly down to the chrome!

Cheers,

Andy

Hold on guys before painting roof rail trim My previous import tt had the same prob and my new one also, I tried almost every product known to man to sort them out but you know what they say about the simplest answer is often the best! First buy som good quality black electrical tape and a sharp model knife.wait for a nice warm, not hot day clean the trim with a little soapy water and dry. now stretch a length of tape over the trim and carefully feed it on slowly , if it goes wrong start again with a new piece, go past the ends of the trims now the craft knifr can be used to trim the ends neatly. The tape will not cover all of the trim width wise but it will cover most and when you stand back it looks fine ,I did the narrower window rubbers also on mine,Oh by the way I had to use apuller to release my wiper arms and remove the lower windscreen panels to paint them I used matt black spray paint look just fine.when I replace the wipers I put greese on the spline save the hard work of removal if need again..sorry that was so long winded guys ,,need a drink now Jeff TT

I would be interested in a "paint method" if any one has suggetstions!!

Did Nissan weld on the wiper arms? LOL.

Will have to try the puller method.

I had the same problem with the wiper arms - the trick is to apply force either side of the shaft. If you lift the wiper arm into its raised position, then pull on the arm while pulling the opposite side (with, say a screwdriver underneath) it should come off fairly easily. Sorry about it being a bit vague - you try describing it smile.gif
