Mate of mine just purchased a manwell conversion for his import tt

 

He just rang me to say there are 2 open holes eithier side,would this be for an oil cooler?

 

If so what will he need to do !!

there may well be two holes on one side (same side as the starter motor) where the banjo bolts for the transmission cooler would be, these can be plugged with a blanking plug (most engineering/bolt suppliers should have them) or if the banjos, washers and pipes off the side of the box are in amongst the conversion he has bought the pipework can be left on and and the two ends of the pipe can be linked with a short piece of suitable hose and a couple of clips.

 

Someone will correct me if im wrong....but i think uk manual boxes have a oilcooler with an external pump, hence why they get blanked of on a jdm as they dont have a cooler for the manual box.

bit of silcone hose and just join them together mate, thats exactly what i did and works a treat

I was told silicon piping and oil doesn,t mix so i,ve always used proper rubber ones for ay oil related piping :confused1:

Well was jeff fron zed world who told me silicone would be fine, I had no probs
