ABS engaging or resetting at low speed with little braking

Hi all,

I've been searching for days on the internet for the solution. My problem is that whenever I'm slowly comming to a stop and press the brakes very light the ABS actuator makes a buzzing boingoing noise, almost as if a spring is depressing and my pedal is moving a little bit down so I have to press the pedal further to come to a stop. Under driving conditions everything works just fine. Only at very low speed when applying very little braking. But here in holland we have many bumpstops and roundabouts so it is getting on my nerves...

Found a lot of threats on various forums from people with the same problem. Sadly no solution. Hope you can help!

Thanks in advance!

I used to have the random 'boingoing' noise, exactly as you mention, I don't think my brake system was properly bled after refurbing all 4 calipers, a real good bleed using plenty of fluid in the correct order (on here somewhere) cured the problem for me.

I would try a system bleed as Tudor says. Maybe some air in the fluid or your fluid has water in it.

Thanks for your input. The problem was there when I bought it.

Just before I toke her off the road I installed caliper relocation brackets, revised 1 caliper and refreshed the braking flued. Calipers are standard.

The system should have been properly bled, but then again I can allways try that again.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the link! Last time, the bleeding was done by a "professional". I think I will give it a shot myself this time :balloon:

Also check that all your ABS rings are in good condition and dont have any breaks/missing teeth

Thanks Dave! I ordered a new one for the front the day before yesterday just in case. Are they different for the rear?

B.t.w. nice rims!
