As I promised in my intro thread, it's time to start asking questions. To avoid opening two threads I'm going to ask everything here, if that's alright with everyone.
Emissions:
I managed to get my car through our versions of an MoT with the help of the people conducting it, but here's the thing. They measure on two levels, at 3000 rpm, for lambda and cats (passed both with flying colours) and at idle. And despite passing the first test, I failed completely on the emissions test. The exhausts have been replaced last year (had the same problem), so I don't think there's a problem with that, and since the cats and lambda are fine, what could be the problem?
I should also point out that I had a full diagnostics test done by the Nissan service center and they couldn't find anything wrong with the car.
Steering arms/rack
At the same MoT they told me I'm going to have to replace "the left steering column" (that's a direct translation). Since I couldn't find such a thing, I'm left guessing that I either need a left steering arm or an entire steering rack. I'm hopefully going to get a definitive answer in a few hours, when I have it looked at again. Either way, I found these steering arms for sale and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them? (Link: Steering arms)
If I would buy them, would I also have to replace any other parts?
Does anyone have and alternative steering arms to recommend?
And, just in case, where would it be best to buy an entire steering rack? The only ones I found were in the US, and they won't ship to Slovenia.
Plenty of questions, I know, but I'm far from being an expert on the mechanical side of cars
