nothing major but irritating more than anything:

 

Went for a drive today, got out the car, went to lock it, and the lock on he drivers side doesnt work anymore.

 

It was working, then with no warning, bang it stopped.

 

i turn the key, no resistance, nothing. Still only turns half way in each direction, but it doesnt touch the locking mechanism. The central locking still works from inside the car.

 

It wasnt sticking at all prior to stopping working.

 

 

Guessing it has just detatched on the inside.

 

How do I remove the door card to check it. and worse case scenario, can I swap it out with the lock from the boot or passenger side?

 

Like I said new to the Zed, so no idea on any of it.

there is a little plastic part on the lock that the Central locking rod connects to. Common part to break. You can get replacement metal versions.

if its the central locking rod, would it not still be able o unlock the drivers door?

door car remove is easy, 2 screws under the felt in the drivers door handle dip, lighter holder (lol), 2 down the side of the door where the hinges are, depend if yours is jap spec or not will depend if you have to remove seatbelt from the lower section and upper section of the door. wind the window half way down, from out side of the car there is a small plastic covering hiding another screw (best to use a magnetic screwdriver for that one) that will let you remove the top door arm cover giving you access to the 3 10mm / philips screws under it, then you have a few more screws on the outter edge of the door near the door catch, then pop the door handle cover off, unplug the window switch, now pull the plugs from the lower part of the door trim, and lift it clear.
