JAE Tunnel Run 2012

In association with missbanzai

 

For the 2nd time the teams at MissBanzai and JAE are collaborating to bring you the JAE Tunnel Run 2012

 

This year we will be starting from Wicksteed Park on the evening of Friday 7^th September.

The MissBanzai team will be waiting to collect your entrance fee at the field closest to the entrance at 10pm.

Entrance fee is £10 per car - £8 of this fee will be given to Macmillan cancer care, this is all helping to go towards money being raised all weekend at JAE.

£2 is to cover admin and printing costs.

 

At approx 11pm when all the maps are handed out, we will be off to see the sights and tunnels of London.

These will include The London Eye, Tower of London, Tower bridge and Big Ben… we will be doing some epic tunnels which include The Kingsway tunnel and the favourite West Ferry underpass to name but a few.

 

So if you have heard of our infamous tunnel runs, but have never done one or you are a hard core tunnel runner and know what these are all about, get yourself, and your friends involved to help us raise as much money as possible for this very worthy charity.

 

There will be a prize for Spirit of the Tunnel Run on the night, which will go to the car/team who have embraced tunnel running to the max!

 

Details

Starting point: Entrance field at Wicksteed Park

Gates open: 9pm

Price: £10 per car – Route map will be handed out on entry

Gates close for entry: 10:30pm

Cars leave for London: Approx 11pm

 

The tunnel run will end at South Mimms services, where we can have some breakfast and then convoy back to JAE.

This event is ONLY FOR THOSE ATTENDING JAE, it will be starting from inside Wicksteed Park, so unless you have a JAE ticket, expect to be turned away at the gates.

 

The Tunnel Run will holding area will open at 2100hrs (9pm) and will close at 2230hrs (10:30pm), please ensure you leave plenty of time to get in and sorted.

Can`t wait!!!!!!! hope the weather doesn't let us down :)

Gutted I haven't still got the zed to join in but I shall watch you all go and come back again! Lol and have the beers ready :)

Its a weekend away from the kids so I'm going to make the most of it and have as much fun as I can cram in lol

Let me get this right,

We or I travel to Wicksteed on the Friday arriving there say 3pm, I pitch up my tent and have a little chat to folk.

I then go on this run at my bedtime and we drive down to that there London through the night ending up some hours later in South Mimms for some scram at say 7am :yes:

 

Have I got that about right then :clap:

Bugger ....I thought it was Saturday night!!, that changes a few things :(, I`m not sure what to do now, I wanna go on the tunnel run, but its a long way to travel down,set up camp and then do another haul in the zed !!!! maybe a good idea for you to drive my car then vods if your keen, I will be co-pilot :D ?? I will have a think what`s best to do :)

well its only about 75 miles to centre of London from Jae, so leave at 11pm....1&1/2 hours to London, through the tunnels and back about 3am!!!! fook me!! at least we can have a lie in!! just wish it was the Saturday!!

Was totally gutted but it was best for him, I couldn't give him the time and commitment that he needed and I made sure he went to the best home :)

 

I'm sure we'll have plenty of beer left, well I'm hoping all depends on how long you take lol I like to drink!!! Lmao

This is last years Tunnel run, its only 40 mins so not so bad!!!worth a look if your thinking of going to get an idea what`s involved ;)

can do mate, insured as long as i have your permission. you sure you going to be ok even sitting beside me if im driving your zed? ill take care of her.

yeh, me too, it seems a great idea, but in reality it just too late and for us driving all that way down and then again in the middle of the night, its a long slog !!! I think you would rather get on the lash and down some beers!!!!
