Hi guys,

Just looking through the history and the belt on my car was last changed as part of the major 60k service 5 years ago at Zedworld.

Car had covered 58k then, sitting on 75k now.

The handbook says the interval is 60k and nothing about or 7 years etc like you usually see.

So when should the belt be changed?

As I only do about 2-3k miles a year another 40k is a long way off lol.

Cheers.

There are some who say 60k miles or 5 years; whichever is first......

.....and at 5 years ago, it's likely you should have it done again soon. Rubber can deteriorate over time so best be safe than sorry. A new cambelt is cheaper than a new engine!! Give Jeff a call and ask what he would advise - I'd go with his opinion as he's changed more ZX cam belts than anyone!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

As Jimmer says, if in doubt get it done. The manual says 60k OR 5 years which ever comes first.
