I keep getting an error 29 all the time. No Satellite Signal Being Received... Have checked all connections, tried different cables but no joy. Have also followed advice on the the Sky website about resetting the LNB etc. It happens mostly when I try to record something on a channel I am not watching or have set up a series link to record. Help! My boot is near to going through the TV :(

Buy a 2nd hand box off ebay thats what I did, only about £25 for a HD box. Quick phone call to change over the box details their end and it should woek fine

That cheap? Cool. I'll have a look. I think the one I have now is Amstrad.....do I stay away from those this time? Cheers

ok, normally swap over the two feeds, but obviously you have done that.

on your dish you should have 8 signal outputs - if its a HD one.

try selecting two others, as i seems you only have the issue with one of the connections.

Great. I'll give that a go. Can I select any 2?

you should have two rows of 4 connectors, just pick 1 from each row :D

Yeah surprised me too and I got very lucky was being sold by someone in the next street to me so I just had to walk and pick it up

have you tried updating your box software?

unplug the power cable from the rear of the box and remove your viewing card, hold down the BACKUP button on the box, not on the remote and plug the box back in at the rear, Keep holding down the BACKUP button on the box, until the the TV displays a “UPGRADING SYSTEM SOFTWARE” message, the three LEDS will light up on the front of the Sky box just wait for the box to reset, pop your card back in then see how you get on. sometimes the boxes don't upgrade properly and it needs to be done again.

Solved my issue of no signal.

What make of box is it mate? I know thomson HD boxes can cause a lot of problems with the power supply failing.
