wierd noise

hi peeps

 

i was out n teh zed yesterday , first time i have had it on the road since taxing and filling up with fuel , went to pick up thekids from school , in first when seting off the gearbox or diff, not sure which sounds like it should be on a touring car

 

what a noise !!! like a dog box or straight cut gearbox...whatcould cause this the noise goes away if i drive a bit faster or go up to third , fourth gear>??? dont tell me after al this time and just geting the car back thegearbox is letting go !!

 

help !!!

Hmmm! First thing to check is the gearbox and diff oil levels....and if the fluids are ok or black! lol change them anyway. Diff noise would go up with speed and wouldn't matter what gear you are in. Gearbox noise should change when you change gears.

first thing to check is the gator on the gear stick... if that comes off you will hear a load of noise... but not in all gears...

 

this happened to mine not long ago. and like medallion man said when the gear gator is lifted it sound really bad, i just changed the oils and stuck the gator back down and it was all fine again!
