wierd 'GULP..GULP' noise?!?!

hi guys, booted my 300 quite heavily the other day and i noticed a weird noise after, when stationary? it sounds like a drain pipe swallowing the last few drops of rain?? kinda gulp gulp if thats right??

it sounds if it is coming from the drivers side, behind the dash.... you can hear it more through the vent on the side of the dash when the door is open....

could it be something to do with the aircon?

cheers jaz

Easy - there are valves either side of the car that inject air into the exhaust to trick emissions tests. They are called AIV valves. Over time, the filter fills with water (probably condensation) and when it is dragging air through to inject into the exhaust, it gargles through the collected water....

Now there's the explanation, here's the cure:-
