Blue Smoke??

Hi, Quick question for you all, When taking my zed to the MOT station i noticed in my rear view mirror that it was putting some blue smoke out the passenger side exhaust under load. Now this only happens when i give it some beans, So is it the turbo on its way out or something more sinister?

Cheers in advance

it could be the turbo or even piston rings but in the first instance replace the PCV valves & hoses as often this can be the cause of smoking & is a nice easy cheap repair :)

There is, I read one, will try find it for you mate. pretty simple tbh.

I found some for £3 each online, from a place called rock auto:

dont forget, if you remove it and shake it, and it rattles its ok, if it dont, needs replacing, so you can test them...

thats from the states - I would think shipping would cost more than any saving made - try MJP in our traders section for genuine parts.

dont forget the hoses - there are 5 in total but 1 is a bit of a pig to get to - the front 2 & rear 2 off the hoses are the most important, they will probably be rock hard when you try to take them off & some have restrictors in which can clog.

The rattle test is not really that conclusive - it doesnt really mean they are definately sealing inside under boost - I would just replace them anyway TBH :)
