Windscreen Trim removal

Hi

Can anyone help or got any ideas what will work best firstly do the windscreen trim strips [vertical ones] just pull off or do you need trim tool to release them and secondly what paint would be best to use to cover up where the black plastic coating has come off, or any other ideas to Re-Furb them.
