Throttle Screw

There is a small screw on the rod that opens the throttle butterflay just to the left of the passenger throttle body. Mine is loose. What is it for and what will happen if it is incorrectly adjusted. I gave it a quarter turn clockwise and my idle speed rocketed so I turned it back to where it was. Now the idle briefly drops below 700 rpm when I stop

Hows about IDLE adjustment!!!

DOH

Pretty certain it's not. Looks more like screw for balancing the throttle body valves.

Idle adjustemnt is behind the engine, is it not??

Sounds like it's for synch-ing the throttle butterflies to me. That's not how idle adjustment should be done, however, fiddling with it will affect the idle (on at least one bank of cylinders) as you have found out !

How can I make sure that the setting is OK. It sure as hell is very, very sensitive

There's info in the manual. Can't remember what you do now, but wouldn't surprise me if it's something to do with a feeler gauge.

Yep, found it on page EM-23. Ta

Does seem over sensitive though since I don't see how a quaretr turn have much impaxt on the butterfly angle. Perhaps the valves need cleaning again
