Not for me, but I have a close friend that I'm trying to find a new car for, he owns his own bodyshop and is doing reasonably well so far and wants to treat himself.

I've fed up with him having chavvy peugeot 306s and stuff, he needs something more modern and quick.

So budget of upto £3000, needs to be petrol and turbo, and less than 10 years old ideally. he plans to get an Evo 6 at the end of the year so needs something to tide him through until then :thumbup1:

Any suggestions please? He was looking at astra coupe turbos but IMO that falls into the chav bracket.. :clown:

The impreza that is up for sale on here?

If hes gonna get a evo before Xmas, wouldn't he be better to buy a banger and put the extra 2.5k towards the evo and get it a month sooner.

Well most Subarus and Evos below 3k will easily fall into the chav bracket. Also any quick Vauxhall is a chav machine fact.

Octavia RS Turbo

Audi A3 1.8T

Golf GTi Turbo (Borderline chav)

Ibiza / Leon Cupra (Again borderline chav)

Saab 9-3 Turbo

Cant think of any others younger than 10 years old within that money. I'd buy older and get better such as a MR2 Turbo or Fiat Coupe Turbo

thanks for the suggestions guys, gonna try and steer him the impreza route as his dad used to have one and his bro's had a few.

I've been nagging him to get a turbo for ages now so cant back down now I've got him in that mindset

I think he is asking to much lol!!! I would of said an Astra GSI not chav in nice and stock.

Apart from that and what has ben said. Fiat coupe 20vt with Le kit for the mighty 330D best everyday car possible :)

I'd go along with those suggestions as well - since anything sub-£3k, under 10 years old and turbocharged is going to be a chav-mobile. But following on from Dean's suggestion of going older, the obvious has been overlooked....... You can buy a reasonable 300zx for that money!!

Although I don't necessarily agree that the Golf is borderline chav. Sure you do get the chav drivers (like you will with any car), but a Golf GTi still has that timeless and classless appeal that makes it look at home on both the council estate or the country estate..... That's why the Golf maintains it's reasonably high residuals in comparison to other cars in its class!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thought you would have a spare zed you could get him into Baz??

How about a van?

I'm running out of spare zeds to sell him, one day he likes them, then the next he'll moan that they are really old

and that van is hideous! :slap: but bet it goes well lol

Its not pretty but would be funny leaving people at the lights scratching there head thinking what the F***

Not a turbo, but how about a celica t sport? It's quick, reliable, practical, looks good and prices are really coming down. The power comes in at higher revs. Just have to push it a bit harder!!

sorry, but less than 10 years old? whats the fun in that?

early 90's is the best period for performance cars. Economic boom, cars were just so much better with much less emissions restrictions and no such thing as practicality.

There is the MR2 Tubby, the GTO Twin Turb, the R33 Skyline (I saw a 380bhp gts go for 3k last week) the Mazda Rx7, Toyota Supra, Evo 4, Galant VR4, and the all out amazing 300zx.

one thing I can say. Forced induction, 1990's Japanese and your on to a winner.

lmao just saw last post. its 90's its jap, its forced induction - good choice :D

Good choice with the Impreza... I was this ones first owner. The only time I bought a brand new car...

3 years and 100k miles before it made way for a Hayabusa :thumbup1:
