Noisy cam belt tensioner bearings?

When I lightly rev the engine, as she comes down from say 2000rpm I get what can only be described a dry bearing squeal.

Could this be the cam belt tensioner bearing? or am I looking at something more sinister?

If it is the cam belt bearings, is it possible to oil/grease them?

If so, how big a job is it?

    If you take the alternator belt and air con belt off then start the car and rev it and the noise is still there then yes it will be your cambelt tensioner/roller. If so dont mess about get them and the belt and all tensioners changed. If the noise is not there then put the aux belts on 1 at a time and listen to see when the noise returns so you know which system has the fault.

    Could be your VVT springs, still need the cam cover off to get to them but only a few quid each. A tensioner bearing would tend to be more constant IMO
