Thanks jeff will some pics tomorrow not that you need any of course hehe :-)

I did mine on a lifter whilst the gearbox was out, still a pain in the arse, I just chopped everything into bite sized pieces. Well done pal, anything left of your knuckles?

i did my with the engine out ... did think about it with it in place

you did very good m8 good on ya bet u have cuts all over ya hands haha

is it a worse job than removing the top rear aircon compressor bolt?.

Is that a ball ache matey? I can't remember, gonna be whipping mine off soon...

It's a pain but just use a crows foot on it and it's easy enough. Changing the drivers side steering rack bush with the engine in and the car on stands is the worst job. lol

i thought it was, having large hands and only being able to swing the ratchet like 3 clicks at a time :(

Fair shout Steve for doing it in situ but the box takes a couple of hours to remove and refit !! and it would have made life much easier.

my pet hate is removing autoboxes and yes i have an auto lol dont mind customers just my own lol

its not the bolts at the back that are the isue every one goes on a bout but the pipe at the drivers side thats the problem and the egr entrance i found the only way was to remove it from the turbo manifold and juggle the steel pipes about with a large implement to get it out managed to remove it all in about four hours

ive just done a coolant bypass now as well so inlet manifold removal should only take approx 15 mins now instead of the usual 10 days lol

so u did the egr removed with the plenum off ?

yes it would be an immposable task other wise

Ive just removed all the valves today and the metal pipes for the pcv and middle coolant connector at the back of the head so there are now just one pcv hose at the back running from the n/s rear cam cover round to the o/s inlet plenum and just 2 coolant pipes one from each turbo to the rear matrix pipes :)

ive lost arounf 5 kilos in pcv and vaccum hose and general pipe work so far :)

And a lot less chance of coolant leaks :)
